Prayers – December 15, 2024
“Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.” Psalm 37:4
Thank you, Lord, for reminding us on this third Sunday of Advent that we light the candle of joy. We give thanks for the joy that is all around us – from our families, the lights, the music, the gathering together. But most of all because Jesus has come to us, we can live every day in the joy of the Lord. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Luke 2:10
Have your way in us, Lord, even as we fight to control each aspect of our lives, guide us to be more like Jesus….
● may we follow the example of the baby born in Bethlehem who came to treat everyone with love and kindness. ‘Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against anyone among your people, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the Lord. Leviticus 19:18 NIV
● help us to navigate the tough roads of life when people disappoint, illness and age weaken us, tragedies and sorrow occur, evil and injustice overpower good. Remind us that when we rely on your strength and guidance, we will have peace.
● guide us to obedience and self-control which is a sign of love for our Father. Those who accept my commandments and obey them are the ones who love me. And because they love me, my Father will love them. And I will love them and reveal myself to each of them.” John 14:21
● Help us discern from God’s wisdom and worldly wisdom. But the wisdom from above is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and the fruit of good deeds. It shows no favoritism and is always sincere. James 3:17
We pray for brothers and sisters not only at CCC but also outside our walls, asking that God’s good and perfect will be accomplished even though we might not understand the process or outcome….
● for physical healing and patience for those with pain and frailness in body and mind
● for the children in Guatemala, Sierra Leong and Columbia who will be receiving our Shoebox gifts. We pray that God will touch their lives with love, joy and peace.
● for committed brothers and sisters to support, encourage, and work alongside our pastors in ministry
● for healthy relationships and realistic expectations in our families
● for the safety of believers who live in hostile environments
● that we may do whatever possible to share the love of Jesus

感謝主 … 在將臨期的第三個主日提醒我們點燃了喜樂的蠟燭。我們為來自身邊的家庭、燈光、音樂和聚會充滿的喜樂獻上感恩 。最重要的是，因為耶穌已經降臨到我們中間，我們每天都可以活在主的喜樂中。天使對他們說： “不要害怕！我給你們帶來了好消息，是關乎萬民大喜樂的。”—路加福音2:10
主啊，儘管我們努力操縱生活的各個層面，求主幫助我們按祢的方式行事, 讓我們變得更像耶穌…
● 願我們效法那位降生在伯利恆的嬰孩，祂以愛與仁慈對待每一個人。「不可報仇，也不可埋怨你本國的子民，卻要愛人如己。我是耶和華。」——利未記19:18
● 求主幫助我們走過人生的艱難道路，當人令人失望、疾病與年老削弱我們、悲劇和憂傷降臨、邪惡和不公義壓倒善良時，提醒我們依靠主祢的力量和引導，我們必得平安。
● 求主引導我們順服和自制，這是對天父愛的標記。「接受我命令並遵守的，就是愛我的人；愛我的人必蒙我父愛他，我也要愛他，並且向他顯現。」——約翰福音14:21
● 求主幫助我們分辨神的智慧與世俗的智慧。「從上頭來的智慧，首先是清潔的，後是和平、溫良柔順、滿有憐憫、多結善果，沒有偏見，總是真誠的。」——雅各書3:17
我們不只為教會的弟兄姐妹禱告，也為在教會以外的弟兄姐妹禱告，即使我們完全不明白上帝的旨意為何，我們仍祈求祂完善的旨意成全。
● 為那些身體和心理疼痛、虛弱的人祈求身體康復和耐心。
● 為瓜地馬拉、塞拉利昂和哥倫比亞的孩子們禱告，他們將收到我們的鞋盒禮物。求神以愛、喜樂與平安觸動他們的生命。
● 為忠心支持、鼓勵並與我們的牧師同工事奉的弟兄姊妹禱告。
● 為家庭中的健康關係和實際期望禱告。
● 為那些生活在敵對環境中的信徒的安全禱告。
● 求主幫助我們盡己所能分享耶穌的愛。
