Continued Prayer Request for healing for Mandarin Pastor Joanna Xu as she continues with a new chemotherapy regimen. May God continue to bring healing to her body.
Christmas Schedule:
– December 21: Christmas Potluck Lunch and Caroling, beginning at 12 noon in the Hung Memorial Hall. Bring your favorite dish to share (enough to cover your family plus a little extra). Free parking is available at the PMI lot at 900 New York Avenue with a validation stamp from the church.
– December 22: Joint Christmas Worship Service, 10:45 am
Congregation Meeting, December 15, 2024, 1:00 pm in the sanctuary. Come see and hear a wrap-up of 2024 highlights and plans for 2025 when we celebrate CCC’s 90th anniversary.
Winter Youth Retreat: 6th-12th graders at CCCDC are invited to participate in a time of fellowship, learning God’s Word, and growing together as a family in Christ from January 31 – February 2nd, 2025 at Skycroft Conference Center in Middletown, MD. Canned Food Drive will take place in December. Collection dates for non-perishable food items are December 15 and 22 in the narthex and fellowship hall. All items will be donated to Central Union Mission. Please check that expiration dates have not passed.
Shoes for the Homeless Drive continues through December 22. Please bring new or gently used shoes to provide protection, dignity and improved quality of life for homeless individuals whose shoes may be held together by duct tape or missing altogether. See flyer and the collection box at the church entrance.
Poinsettias may be ordered for display on the altar on December 22 or for distribution to a shut-in. Please complete a form found in the literature rack and turn in with payment of $10 each in the offering bag or the church office by December 15.
PRE-DATED BOXED OFFERING ENVELOPES FOR 2025 are available for distribution. Please contact Helen Wong, Rita Wong or treasurer@cccdc.com if you would like a box.
Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) is the official workplace-giving campaign for the federal community. It allows federal employees and retirees to support the causes they care about by giving to their charity (or charities) of choice from the thousands participating. Our church’s Chinatown Service Center is one of the charities on their list. Use code #34868 to designate. Non-federal workers may still support the Service Center with a donation made to Chinatown Service Center through the church.
Free Parking at PMI Parking lots on Saturdays and Sundays for Church Events 900 New York Avenue. Obtain a validation stamp at church. Enter on 9th Street. PMI Garage at 600 Mass Ave – church paid arrangement for those who need to have a closer option for parking. For either lot, please make sure you pick up a validation stamp or follow-up ticket at the front door from security or greeters. Street parking is also free on Sundays. ● Monthly Church-wide Prayer Meeting. Please note the change in day from Monday to Tuesday (sharing Mandarin Prayer Meeting time slot). We invite you to join together as a church family for prayer in our next virtual meeting on January 7, 2025 from 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Participants may pray in any language, offering only words meant for God. There should be no explanation or self-introduction. You may pray following the direction of the pastors or for items on your mind at the time. You may come any time during the hour.

● Cantonese Prayer Meeting, Wednesdays, 7:45 pm on zoom.
Offerings and Donations are being received during worship services. Whatever you give is acceptable if you give it eagerly. Give according to what you have, not what you don’t have. 2 Corinthians 8:12 NLT. You may also send checks in the mail, add CCC to your Bill Pay service from your bank, or send offering through Zelle (treasurer@cccdc.com) or PayPal from website link. Checks are payable to Chinese Community Church, 500 I Street, NW, Washington, DC 20001. If giving through PayPal, avoid fees by designating Friends and Family from your account, not a credit card or using the PayPal Giving Fund. Offering collection boxes are also stationed in church worship spaces. In addition to operating budget, you may designate donations to missions, Good Samaritan Fund, Chinatown Service Center, Building Fund.

Next Legal Clinic, sponsored by Chinatown Service Center and Asian Pacific American Legal Resource Center, will be January 2, 2024. Translators are provided. You must reserve a spot with the Chinatown Service Center, 202-898-0061 in order to attend. Meeting details will be provided when you call.

聖誕節活動安排

罐裝食品捐贈活動將於12月舉行。非易腐食品的收集日期為12月15日和22日，地點為教堂前廳及團契廳。所有捐贈物品將送至所有收集到的非易腐食品將捐贈給中央聯盟代表團。請檢查食品的有效期，確保未過期。
為無家可歸者提供鞋子捐贈活動 活動持續到12月22日。請捐贈全新或輕微使用過的鞋子，為無家可歸者提供保護、尊嚴和更好的生活品質。他們的鞋子可能已經破損不堪甚至缺失。詳情請參閱教堂入口處的宣傳單和收集箱。
聖誕紅訂購 聖誕紅可於12月22日擺放在祭壇上或分送給行動不便者。請填寫文宣架上的表格，並於12月15日前將每盆$10的付款放入奉獻袋或交至教會辦公室。

聯合聯邦運動 (CFC) 是聯邦社區的官方工作場所捐贈運動。它允許聯邦員工和退休人員從數千家參與的慈善機構中挑選一家進行捐贈，以支持他們關心的事業。本教會的中國城華埠服務中心是其名單上的慈善機構之一。使用代碼 #34868 進行指定。非聯邦工作人員仍可通過教會向中國城華埠服務中心捐款來支持服務中心。
