Please Pray for Mandarin Pastor Joanna Xu, who is scheduled for another chemotherapy treatment for cancer this week.  Pray that the chemo will do its job and she will be able to tolerate the side effects.  May we trust in His healing and goodness for her life.

Pastor Charles will be overseeing the Mandarin ministry in Pastor Joanna’s temporary absence.  Please pray for guidance and blessing on him and the Mandarin Ministry Team as they serve together.

Joint Worship with Grace DC On May 19, 2024 at 11 am, we will worship with folks from the congregation which uses our church for worship on Sunday evenings. Grace DC will help in leading the English service and their founding pastor, Rev. Glenn Hoburg, will give the message.

Anti-Asian Hate Program On Wednesday, May 15, 2024. 10 am – 12 noon in the church fellowship hall, the Chinatown Service Center and US Department of Justice are partnering to offer information about services for those dealing with anti-Asian sentiments and acts in the community – victims of human trafficking, domestic violence, hate crimes, discrimination, and other issues faced by the AAPI community. Several DOJ, APLARC, and Law Enforcement professionals will share on services and processes to gain relief for victims of crimes.  

PBS Documentary on life of CCC Member, Dora Fugh Lee The inspirational life story and art work of CCC member Dora Lee, 95, will be shown on PBS in May. PMI Garage at 600 Mass Ave – church paid arrangement for those who need to have a closer option for parking.  For either lot, please make sure you pick up a validation stamp or follow-up ticket at the front door from security or greeters. Need Prayer? Send your request through the homepage of the church website. http://tinyurl.com/CCC-Prayers  or join the Monthly Church-wide Prayer Meeting.  We invite you to join together as a church family for prayer in our next virtual meeting, May 6, 2024 (usually the first Monday of the month) from 7:30 pm – 8:30 pm. Participants may pray in any language, offering only words meant for God.  There should be no explanation or self-introduction.  You may pray following the direction of the pastors or for items on your mind at the time. Offerings and Donations are being received during worship services.  Whatever you give is acceptable if you give it eagerly. Give according to what you have, not what you don’t have. 2 Corinthians 8:12 NLT. You may also send checks in the mail, add CCC to your Bill Pay service from your bank, or send offering through Zelle (treasurer@cccdc.com) or PayPal. Checks are payable to Chinese Community Church, 500 I Street, NW, Washington, DC 20001.  If giving through PayPal, avoid fees by designating Friends and Family from your account, not a credit card or using the PayPal Giving Fund.

Offering collection boxes are also stationed in church worship spaces. In addition to operating budget, you may designate donations to missions, Good Samaritan Fund, Chinatown Service Center, Building Fund.

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) offers low-cost health insurance for children and teens according to income guidelines.  Contact the Service Center for more information.

Next Legal Clinic, sponsored by Chinatown Service Center and Asian Pacific American Legal Resource Center, will be June 6.  Translators are provided.  You must reserve a spot with the Chinatown Service Center, 202-898-0061 in order to attend or use contact information provided on the bulletin board in Fellowship Hall.  Meeting details will be provided when you call.

反亞裔仇恨計畫 2024年5月15日星期三上午10點至中午12點在教會禎桂堂大廳，華埠服務中心和美國司法部將會合作為那些受反亞裔情緒困擾的人和社群中的受害者——人口販運、家庭暴力、仇恨犯罪、歧視以及亞裔社群面臨的其他問題，提供有關服務的資訊。幾位司法部、APLARC和執法專業人士將分享為受害者提供的服務和流程。
