Celebration of Life Service for church member, Yuk Chee Woo, will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at 11:00 am at Hines-Rinaldi Funeral Home, 11800 New Hampshire Avenue, Silver Spring, MD 20904.  Visitation is at 10:00 am.  Yuk Chee Woo, from Cantonese congregation, passed away on May 12, 2022.  She would have been 100 years old on July 9.  Memorial donations may be made to CCC or Montgomery or Prince George’s County hospices.  Contact her daughter, Rita Wong, if you have questions.

Summer Retreat Sign-up The annual summer retreat at Messiah College is on the schedule again, July 29-31, 2022.  Join English congregation for a weekend of teaching, fellowship and fun.  Rev. Monumental Vacation Bible School August 8-12, 2022, 9:00 am – 12:00 pm. 

Go off-road for a Monumental adventure through games, songs, and science-fun. By exploring God’s awesomeness, kids form a rock-solid faith for the road ahead. Children in kindergarten to 5th grade are welcome to enroll. We also welcome those who would like to experience God through serving Him to come and share God’s love with these little children. Reception of New Members Scheduled for Thanksgiving Joint Worship Service, November 20, 2022 If you are interested in baptism or joining the CCC family by confirmation, transfer of membership, or becoming an associate member, please let one of the pastors know by September 4, 2022 so classes can be scheduled.

Ukrainian Humanitarian Relief We continue to collect offerings to help the millions of Ukrainians who have become refugees or in need of food, livelihood, medical or other aid.  We missed our goal to send a total of $100,000 by June 30, 2022 by about $7000 so we will continue to support Samaritan’s Purse International’s efforts to provide medical care, health supplies, daily living supplies, training Ukrainian church leaders in emotional and trauma support, and providing access to clean water.  Please help if you are able.  All gifts should be sent to CCC earmarked for Ukraine Relief.  Thank you to those who have already given and are praying.

Parking at PMI Parking lots on Sundays: 900 New York Avenue – Free parking with validation stamp.  Enter on 9th Street. PMI Garage at 600 Mass Ave – church paid arrangement for those who need to have a closer option for parking.  For either lot, please make sure you pick up a validation stamp or follow-up ticket at the front door from security or greeters. Offerings and Donations are welcome as church expenses continue.  Whatever you give is acceptable if you give it eagerly. And give according to what you have, not what you don’t have. 2 Corinthians 8:12 NLT. Send checks in the mail, add CCC to your Bill Pay service from your bank, or send offering through Pay Pal. Make payable to Chinese Community Church, 500 I Street, NW, Washington, DC 20001.  If giving through Pay Pal, avoid fees by designating Friends and Family from your account, not a credit card.  Offering collection boxes are available in the church in worship spaces. Legal Clinic, sponsored by Chinatown Service Center and Asian Pacific American Legal Resource Center, will be held on the first Wednesday of each month.  The next Clinic will be July 6. Translators are provided.  You must reserve a spot with Michelle at the Service Center, 202-898-0061 in order to attend.  She will provide meeting details when you call.

COVID-19 Vaccinations are widely available for children and adults.  Contact your state or the district’s government website or your local health department for more information on vaccinations and testing.  If you or someone you know needs help with getting a vaccination or have questions, please call Michelle at the Service Center 202-898-0061.

Precautionary Measures Due to Coronavirus

  • Follow the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines for protecting yourself – vaccination, wear a mask in areas of high COVID transmission, wash hands frequently with soap and water, cover coughs and sneezes, avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands, stay home if you feel ill.
  • Consult a doctor if you have a high fever, cough or breathing problems.
  • Be aware of anti-Asian/Chinese sentiments from those who have anger or fear related to the virus’ origins.  Call 911 if you feel threatened.
  • Trust God in this and all situations acting as Jesus would to check on people who may need assistance, not giving into fear, verifying information before passing it on, praying often for His protection and trusting Him for the outcome.  Our response in any situation is a testimony of our faith.

繼續為援助烏克蘭難民（Aid To Ukrainian Refugees）捐款：繼續籌款以幫助因戰爭成為難民的數百萬烏克蘭人所需的食物、生活用品和醫療物資和其他方面援助。6月30日我們不能達到100,000美元的籌款目標，差額大概7,000美元。所以我們會繼續支持Samaritan’s Purse International（國際撒瑪利亞基金會），在幫助醫療保健、供應烏克蘭醫院、培訓烏克蘭教會領袖同工處理心理創傷的扶持、分發日常生活必需品並提供清潔用水。所有善款請寄來教會並標記為Ukraine Relief（援助烏克蘭）。感謝大家的慷慨奉獻和持續禱告！
