Prayers: April 18, 2021
Prayers
Pray in thanksgiving for God’s presence in our lives:
- Thank you, Lord, for bringing me through a cold winter.
- Thank you, Lord, for breaking the power of sin and death
- Thank you, Lord, that You do not withhold any good thing from me. Psalm 84:11
- Thank you, Lord, that the world is alive with color.
- Thank you, Lord, for more moments of quiet time with you – the pandemic has some positive results.
Pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ:
- For those who are isolated from loved ones or recovering from medical issues. May the love of God warm their hearts and give them strength for the day.
- For the gospel to continue to be heard in China despite government restrictions on worship and Christian education
- For those who continue to serve and care for others in the midst of the pandemic.
- For those who are fearful about coronavirus, the vaccine, the spread, the economic impact or the emotional strain the pandemic has caused.
- For those looking for work
- For this generation of teachers and pastors who, in addition to their teaching and caring, must also conquer online technologies and overcome pandemic restrictions
- That we are ready and eager to share our testimonies when we find opportunity to encourage someone seeking to know God more
- That Rev. and Mrs. Shen experience travel mercies and joyful adjustment to their new home in Washington state with their daughter
- That peace and calm can be restored across our nation even as divisive incidents are still occurring
Pray for CCC:
- That although “zoom church” is not what we’re used to, we can still praise and honor God and receive His teaching by this means
- To be guided by ‘not my will, Lord, but yours be done’
- To choose goodness, righteousness, and truth in our actions even if it means living out of step with the world
- To be doers not just preachers of good things
- For forgiveness when we try to fix things in our own power rather than using the power of God
- To remember that nothing is too difficult for God
- For program planning to reach different groups of people in our church
- For the time when we may safely return to church for worship in person
To Think About: Easter Sunday has passed but the resurrection of Jesus provides us hope every day on which to build our faith. Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?” John 11:25-26 ESV Believing in Jesus’ coming to life again and breaking the law of sin leading to death, gives us the power to live in eternity with Jesus.
