Prayers: March 21, 2021
Prayers
Pray in thanksgiving for God’s presence in our lives:
- Thank you, Lord, for the army of angels looking out for me. Psalm 91:11
- Thank you, Lord, for living in me – how comforting to know you are a moment’s call away.
- Thank you, Lord, that the cross of Christ puts me in oneness with you, that nothing can separate me from your love now that Jesus is my Savior.
- Thank you, Lord, for the yellows, and pinks, and purples which are beginning to cover the earth!
- Thank you, Lord, for meeting all my needs. Philippians 4:19
Pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ:
- Those with ongoing health concerns will be patient in the healing process
- Those in nursing or homebound care – that they will be allowed more contact with loved ones
- Those who have experienced fear and hate at the hands of others
- Those who have lost their homes from recent storms and those continuing to rebuild from previous storm destruction
- Those suffering from Covid infections and other ramifications of the virus. Pray for the vaccination process and that we may be patient and vigilant even as we see hope of more “normal” days ahead
- For a community of workers, most behind the scenes, who add joy to our everyday life
- To persist in using whatever God has gifted them to serve His purpose
Pray for CCC:
- To be more active at listening than at speaking
- To be working toward unity and seeking commonalities
- That disagreements and quarrels do not cause Jesus to weep for us
- That Jesus is exalted in all that we say and do
- That we use the most powerful tool we have to shape the world – prayer – knowing that God our Father loves to give us good gifts. Prayer lets us witness God’s hand in any situation.
- That in our Lenten journey, we may reflect on being like Jesus as he was throughout his ministry – showing forgiveness in action and word. 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Ephesians 4:32 Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you. We are called to forgive others just as Jesus did with his death on the cross.
To Think About: Let us focus on the majesty and power of our Father, the one who created all things and has never failed to take care of us in the past, is continually with us in the present and will continue to love us into heaven in the future. “Jesus looked at them intently and said, “Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But not with God. Everything is possible with God.” Mark 10:27 NLT This promise reminds us to gauge our situations with God’s power in mind, not our limited thinking and abilities.
