Prayers: June 7, 2020
Pray in thanksgiving for God’s presence in our lives:
- Thank you, Lord, for new grandchildren in our family.
- Thank you, Lord, for your provision and protection.
- Thank you, Lord, for strengthening us with your Word.
- Thank you, Lord, for times of waiting for that’s when you are preparing us and preparing an outcome for our good
- Thank you, Lord, for time to enjoy the homes you have provided us
Pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ:
- Those in fragile health due to medical issues
- Those in nursing or homebound care who can have no outside visitors
- Those dealing with the coronavirus pandemic – patients, medical staff, researchers, caregivers, essential workers, leaders who must decide how to bring our nation back to “normal”, those who are afraid of contracting the virus, those who are still coming down with the virus
- To allow God to avenge wrongs, while we stick to what is right, peaceful and good. Romans 12
- Those whose hearts are unsettled, that they may receive comfort and healing from divisiveness
- Those who are angry, that God may hover over them to calm their rage so healing and change can begin
- Those who must now recover from COVID-19 and damage done in their community by storms and rioters
- Our missionaries to persevere in difficult conditions – politically charged climate, poor COVID-19 protections, and unwelcome outreach
- Those without jobs
Pray for CCC:
- Pray that our worship is joyful and without reserve because we love the Lord! On your feet now—applaud God! Bring a gift of laughter, sing yourselves into his presence. Psalm 100:1-2 The Message
- That we demonstrate lives of repentance as children of God, and shine like stars in the sky of a world darkened by sin. Philippians 2:15
- For ability to align our aspirations with the Lord’s
- For wisdom in knowing where, when, and how to reach out in our community
- For wisdom in bringing CCC back to full worship together as a family of God
- To work together in harmony
To Think About: In Proverbs, God’s guide to living, we are reminded that planning using knowledge and wisdom of others makes you stronger than one who has only physical strength. Being wise is better than being strong; yes, knowledge is more important than strength. After all, you must make careful plans before you fight a battle, and the more good advice you get, the more likely you are to win. Proverbs 24:5-6 GNT
