Prayers: May 17, 2020
Pray in thanksgiving for God’s presence in our lives:
- Thank you, Lord, for the beauty of the earth.
- Thank you, Lord, for continued blessings.
- Thank you, Lord, for moments of quiet in a house that is always full.
- Thank you, Lord, for our staff and pastors continuing the work of CCC.
- Thank you, Lord, for your promise to answer when we call on you. Jeremiah 33:3
Pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ:
- Those in fragile health due to medical issues
- Those in nursing or homebound care
- Those dealing with the coronavirus pandemic – patients, medical staff, researchers, caregivers, essential workers, leaders who must decide how to bring our nation back to “normal”, those who are afraid of contracting the virus, those who are still coming down with the virus
- Children who are missing the school environment and their friends.
- Teachers who have expanded roles setting up to teach remotely
- Those who are filled with sadness as they mourn
- Those who are confused by what’s happening in the world and their knowledge of God
- Those who have not felt the peace of your Presence
Pray for CCC:
- Pray for our hearts to be full of song when we worship. Speak to one another with the words of psalms, hymns, and sacred songs; sing hymns and psalms to the Lord with praise in your hearts. Ephesians 5:19 GNT A singing heart is a heart at war with the work of the evil one and the power of sin.
- For patience and wisdom to know when to make changes
- That compassion may motivate our actions
- That we honor God in all we do and say
- That God would open our eyes to see what is honorable, good and just
- To remember that as we face troubles in this world, God has the power to overcome them
To Think About: In Proverbs, God’s guide to living, we are reminded not to be jealous for what evil men seem to have on earth because their future is death; but be zealous for the Lord because your future is an eternity with Him. Don’t envy evil men but continue to reverence the Lord all the time, for surely you have a wonderful future ahead of you. There is hope for you yet! Proverbs 23:17-18 TLB
