Prayers: March 29, 2020
Pray in thanksgiving for God’s presence in our lives:
- Thank you, Lord, that we can cry out in our anxiousness and you will deliver us from our distress. Psalm 107:6
- Thank you, Lord, that we have only to come near to You and You will come near to us. James 4:8
- Thank you, Lord, that our job is to trust you to work out answers for our good, not to lean on our own limited understanding.
- Thank you, Lord, that we have only to look out our window, or maybe venture into our yard, to see the beauty of Your creativity at work.
- Thank you Lord, that we have Paul’s example of how to be CALM – celebrating joy in the Lord; asking God for His presence and help; leaving our concerns with Him; and meditating on good and positive things. Philippians 4:4-9 Then we will experience God’s peace.
Pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ:
- Pray for healing and strength for those in fragile health, especially those quarantining from exposure to COVID-19 or those with other health concerns made more difficult to address due to the coronavirus.
- Pray for those in nursing or needing homebound care who are cut off from their loved ones.
- Pray for containment and effective treatment for coronavirus. Pray for each person who has been infected, is working to treat the patients, or is working for a cure. Pray for those whose economic situation has been drastically affected by everyone sheltering at home. Pray for safety for those who must still go out and work.
- Pray that we use this time to humble ourselves and seek God’s forgiveness so that we may claim His promises.
- Pray for those who have had to give up celebrating special occasions due to social distancing. Thank God He watches over our eternity and will help us to deal with our temporary earthly situations.
- Pray for our missionaries who have elected to continue to serve in foreign countries rather than come home.
Pray for CCC:
- Pray that we worship God in all circumstances. Even in the midst of lockdown and uncertainty, we can praise God because He walks with us wherever we go. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord. Psalm 150:6
- Pray that we may still carry on ministry and obey God’s commands even when regular activities have been put on hold. Matthew 22:36-40
- Picture each member of CCC that you know and say a prayer for protection and peace in his/her life.
- Pray for our children, tht the disruption in their school experience, will not have negative effects to future learning.
- Pray for our government leaders for wisdom to make decisions and impart information which we can trust to contain the virus and stabilize the economy.
To Think About: In Proverbs, God’s guide to living, we are reminded that diligence in seeking God, careful planning and diligent work results in a more desirable outcome than rash and thoughtless actions. The plans of the diligent lead surely to abundance, but everyone who is hasty comes only to poverty.. Prov 21:5 ESV
