50 Now there was a man named Joseph, a member of the Council, a good and upright man, 51 who had not consented to their decision and action. He came from the Judean town of Arimathea, and he himself was waiting for the kingdom of God. 52 Going to Pilate, he asked for Jesus’ body. 53 Then he took it down, wrapped it in linen cloth and placed it in a tomb cut in the rock, one in which no one had yet been laid. 54 It was Preparation Day, and the Sabbath was about to begin.  55 The women who had come with Jesus from Galilee followed Joseph and saw the tomb and how his body was laid in it. 56 Then they went home and prepared spices and perfumes. But they rested on the Sabbath in obedience to the commandment. 50 有一個人名叫約瑟，是個議士，為人善良公義， 51 眾人所謀所為他並沒有附從；他本是猶太亞利馬太城裡素常盼望神國的人。 52 這人去見彼拉多，求耶穌的身體。 53 就取下來，用細麻布裹好，安放在石頭鑿成的墳墓裡，那裡頭從來沒有葬過人。 54 那日是預備日，安息日也快到了。 55 那些從加利利和耶穌同來的婦女跟在後面，看見了墳墓和他的身體怎樣安放。 56 她們就回去，預備了香料香膏。她們在安息日便遵著誡命安息了。
