I Street Traffic Changes I Street in front of our church (between 5th and 6th Streets) has become one-way, one lane of through traffic heading east. The purpose is to improve the neighborhood by expanding activities in Chinatown Park, through the removal of the westbound lane. Passengers may still be dropped off in front of the church. Street artwork is currently in progress. See bulletin board.
Queen Esther Drama – A joint effort from all 3 congregations will be presented during the Joint Worship Service on December 10. Can you think of someone who would be encouraged by learning of God’s faithfulness to His people and how He instilled courage in Esther to accomplish this mission? Next Sunday during the worship service we will distribute a card for you to write the names of people that you would like to invite. Please drop it in the offering bag and the pastoral team will lift up these names in prayer. Please also pray that all the supporting services required for the project would fall together smoothly as we rely on His insights and wisdom and not ours.
2023 Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) is currently underway with the theme, Show Some Love: Be the Face of Change. CFC allows Federal workers and retirees an opportunity to give to charitable organizations making a difference in the lives of people in our community. Our church’s Chinatown Service Center [CSC] http://cccdc.com//www.chinatownscdc.org/ is one of the organizations on the list. Use CFC # 34868 to direct your donation to our Center. To find out more about CFC, check out www.cfcnca.org. If you are not a Federal worker, you may still donate to the Center directly through the church.
Christmas Ministry For Children We will join Operation Christmas Child in filling shoeboxes with gifts. You can fill a box on your own or buy gifts for the packing party 
which will be scheduled soon. Items should be new and not cause a hazard to small children. Let’s share about Jesus with children who have not heard the Good News. Please let Jeremy Fan or Rachel Chen know if you make any purchases so we can keep track of inventory (racheremy@gmail.com). Scan the QR code for gift ideas.
Church Offices will be Closed on October 9, 2023 in observance of Columbus Day and Indigenous Peoples’ Day.
Please Recycle Please use the blue bins around the church for CLEAN recyclables – mixed paper; plastic, metal or glass food and beverage containers; flattened cardboard. Everything can be put in the same container. There is a separate bag for clean plastic bags and plastic film recycling. Polystyrene foam cannot be recycled.
Disaster Relief for Hawaii In Christian love, CCC is collecting monetary donations for disaster relief in Maui after wildfires devastated communities on the island. If you are able, please make your checks payable to the Chinese Community Church with a designation for “Maui relief” before November 30. You may also donate cash or Zelle/Paypal. Your donations will be matched up to $6000 by our church members who grew up in Hawaii and now reside in the DC area. All funds will be given to the American Red Cross providing financial aid, temporary housing, meals, mental health and spiritual counseling, and support of local businesses.

Parking at PMI Parking lots on Sundays: 900 New York Avenue – Free parking with validation stamp. Enter on 9th Street. PMI Garage at 600 Mass Ave – church paid arrangement for those who need to have a closer option for parking. For either lot, please make sure you pick up a validation stamp or follow-up ticket at the front door from security or greeters. Street parking is also free on Sundays. We invite you to join together as a church family for prayer in our next meeting on November 6, 2023 (usually the first Monday of the month) from 7:30 pm – 8:30 pm. Participants may pray in any language, offering only words meant for God. There should be no explanation or self-introduction. Offerings and Donations are being received during worship services. Whatever you give is acceptable if you give it eagerly. Give according to what you have, not what you don’t have. 2 Corinthians 8:12 NLT. You may also send checks in the mail, add CCC to your Bill Pay service from your bank, or send offering through Zelle (treasurer@cccdc.com) or PayPal. Checks are payable to Chinese Community Church, 500 I Street, NW, Washington, DC 20001. If giving through PayPal, avoid fees by designating Friends and Family from your account, not a credit card or using the PayPal Giving Fund. In 2023 recording of PayPal donations will reflect actual amount church receives (so fees will be deducted if incurred)

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) offers low-cost health insurance for children and teens according to income guidelines. Contact the Service Center for more information.
Next Legal Clinic, sponsored by Chinatown Service Center and Asian Pacific American Legal Resource Center, will tentatively be in November. Translators are provided. You must reserve a spot with Michelle, 202-898-0061 in order to attend. She will provide meeting details when you call.

十月九日 哥倫布及土著人民日聯邦假期，教會辦工室休息一天。
請環保 請使用教堂周圍的藍色環保箱存放乾淨的可回收物品 – 各類紙張,塑膠、金屬或玻璃食品和飲料容器, 壓平的紙板。所有回收物品都可以放在同一個容器中。另有一個袋子用於回收清潔的塑膠袋和塑膠薄膜。有聚苯乙烯泡沫容器不能回收。
午餐烹廚 我們直至年底繼續需要午餐廚師！如果您能幫助烹廚，請在廚房對面的佈告欄上報名。任何問題請聯繫會員主席Nelson Kee梅偉雄或廚房委員會成員張明光、張飛敏。
