Summer Retreat at Messiah University is this weekend. We pray the 81 participants will be encouraged by their time of learning and fellowship.
Stellar Vacation Bible School –August 7-11, 2023 // 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM // Ages 3-11 // 50 children have signed up for this cosmic quest to have a blast shining Jesus’ light to the world through games, songs, and science-fun. VBS Decoration Set-up: All Hands on Deck!
It is finally time to transform our church for Stellar VBS! We will work on putting everything up on the following days/ times next week. If you are available, please come out, hang out and help out! Pizza dinner will be provided on 8/2.

Pastor Charles will be on sabbatical leave from August 14 to October 15, 2023. Our church provides a time for study, mission, or other professional development for her pastors every seventh year of service with CCC. For assistance during this time for Cantonese and Bowie Restaurant congregation matters, please contact Monica Wong or the church office.
Chinatown Clean-up Event Sponsored by Metropolitan Police Department, August 2-4. Contact Richard Wong <richard_wong_1@yahoo.com> for details or sign-up.
- August 2 Law enforcement will spend the day starting at 10 am focusing on eradicating narcotics, illegal firearms, and quality of life offenses that are frequently complained about.
- August 3 Everyone is asked to join multiple city agencies to walk the area to clean up trash and remove graffiti, provide resource information and listen to concerns of residents. Begins at 1:30 pm at corner of 7th and H Street.
- August 4 Community engagement event with entertainment and resource tables. Anyone with information to share is welcome to come. Begins at 12 noon at 707 H Street NW
Parking at PMI Parking lots on Sundays: 900 New York Avenue – Free parking with validation stamp. Enter on 9th Street. PMI Garage at 600 Mass Ave – church paid arrangement for those who need to have a closer option for parking. For either lot, please make sure you pick up a validation stamp or follow-up ticket at the front door from security or greeters. Street parking is also free on Sundays. Need Prayer? Send your request through the homepage of the church website. http://tinyurl.com/CCC-Prayers or join the Monthly Church-wide Prayer Meeting. We invite you to join together as a church family for prayer in our next meeting on August 7, 2023 (usually the first Monday of the month) from 7:30 pm – 8:30 pm. Participants may pray in any language, offering only words meant for God. There should be no explanation or self-introduction. Offerings and Donations are being received during worship services. Whatever you give is acceptable if you give it eagerly. Give according to what you have, not what you don’t have. 2 Corinthians 8:12 NLT. You may also send checks in the mail, add CCC to your Bill Pay service from your bank, or send offering through Zelle (treasurer@cccdc.com) or PayPal. Checks are payable to Chinese Community Church, 500 I Street, NW, Washington, DC 20001. If giving through PayPal, avoid fees by designating Friends and Family from your account, not a credit card or using the PayPal Giving Fund. In 2023 recording of PayPal donations will reflect actual amount church receives (so fees will be deducted if incurred)

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) offers low-cost health insurance for children and teens according to income guidelines. Contact the Service Center for more information.
Next Legal Clinic, sponsored by Chinatown Service Center and Asian Pacific American Legal Resource Center, usually held once a month. Translators are provided. You must reserve a spot with Michelle, 202-898-0061 in order to attend. She will provide meeting details when you call.
Community Services Classes on Zoom: English as a Second Language Class, Tuesdays @ 6 pm; Citizenship Classes, Fridays @ 6:00 pm. 辜牧師休安息年假 日期2023年8月14日至10月15日。教會牧師每在CCC服務第七年，我們就會為他們提供學習、宣教或其他專業發展的時間。在此期間，如粵語堂和Bowie餐福團契需要會眾事宜的幫助，請聯繫Monica Wong 或教會辦公室。

- 8月2日執法部門將從上午10點開始全天重點打擊經常被投訴的毒品、非法槍械和影響生活質量的違法行為。
- 8月3日要求大家與多個城市機構一起在該地區步行，清理垃圾和清除塗鴉，機構會提供資源信息並傾聽居民的擔憂。下午1:30在7街和H街拐角處開始。
