Annual Bible Reading Marathon will take place on the Capitol grounds April 20-24, 2024 for a continuous reading of the Bible.  Please see Pastor Charles if interested in reading – we have signed up for times on April 21 after worship service and later on in the late evening. http://www.capitolbrm.org/

Missions Update  Religious Education Committee is working on pledges for missionary support in 2024. March donations total $4,245; YTD – $8,270.00.   For information about supported ministries or to suggest others, please contact the Dong Woo Jung, Religious Education Chair.

Spring Clean-up Trustees are planning a series of clean-up days in the church as we strive to be good stewards of what God has entrusted to us.  The first clean-up day is Saturday, April 13, 2024 from 9 am – 1:30 pm.  Target areas will be the library and choir room (we will get to all spaces in turn).  Users of these and any spaces in the church should take inventory and provide a list to Wai Chen of what should be kept, what needs to be tossed, and what could be sent to a new home.  Without this information, the Trustees will use their best judgment on organizing and cleaning the space.  Anyone is welcome to join the Trustees that day to work on your own space or the targeted areas.  Lunch provided.

Suggestion and Maintenance Procedures are being adopted by the Trustees.  Suggestions for building improvement or maintenance/repair should be written on the forms provided and placed in the suggestion box in the kitchen hallway across from the elevator.

Additional ESL and Citizenship Teachers Needed In order to complete the rotation schedule, a few more teachers are needed for the zoom classes.  Study materials are provided and teachers sign up for once a month teaching.  For more information, call the Service Center at 202-898-0061.

Free Parking at PMI Parking lots on Saturdays and Sundays for Church Events  900 New York Avenue.  Obtain validation stamp at church.  Enter on 9th Street. PMI Garage at 600 Mass Ave – church paid arrangement for those who need to have a closer option for parking.  For either lot, please make sure you pick up a validation stamp or follow-up ticket at the front door from security or greeters. Need Prayer? Send your request through the homepage of the church website. http://tinyurl.com/CCC-Prayers  or join the Monthly Church-wide Prayer Meeting.  We invite you to join together as a church family for prayer in our next virtual meeting, May 6, 2024 (usually the first Monday of the month) from 7:30 pm – 8:30 pm. Participants may pray in any language, offering only words meant for God.  There should be no explanation or self-introduction.  You may pray following the direction of the pastors or for items on your mind at the time. Offerings and Donations are being received during worship services.  Whatever you give is acceptable if you give it eagerly. Give according to what you have, not what you don’t have. 2 Corinthians 8:12 NLT. You may also send checks in the mail, add CCC to your Bill Pay service from your bank, or send offering through Zelle (treasurer@cccdc.com) or PayPal. Checks are payable to Chinese Community Church, 500 I Street, NW, Washington, DC 20001.  If giving through PayPal, avoid fees by designating Friends and Family from your account, not a credit card or using the PayPal Giving Fund.

Offering collection boxes are also stationed in church worship spaces. In addition to operating budget, you may designate donations to missions, Good Samaritan Fund, Chinatown Service Center, Building Fund.

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) offers low-cost health insurance for children and teens according to income guidelines.  Contact the Service Center for more information.

Next Legal Clinic, sponsored by Chinatown Service Center and Asian Pacific American Legal Resource Center, will be May 2.  Translators are provided.  You must reserve a spot with the Chinatown Service Center, 202-898-0061 in order to attend or use contact information provided on the bulletin board in Fellowship Hall.  Meeting details will be provided when you call.
