“Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.” Psalm 37:4
- Thank you, Lord, for the gift of today that comes with your grace to handle anything that comes with it. Help us to be thankful for what is and not dwell on what isn’t.
- Thank you, Lord, that when we live in God’s light, our sins are forgiven. 1 John 1:7
- Thank you, Lord, for reminding us in this season of Advent of the hope you bring to the world: “The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned. …For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:2-6
- Renew our minds with your Word: For this is how God loved the world, He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
- We are struggling Lord with how hostages or prisoners are suffering. We pray for your deliverance and healing in the lives of the afflicted.
- We pray for our church to give the message of salvation as its gift to the community this Christmas.
- We pray for our loved ones going through tough times – health, economic, and financial turmoil – that you give them strength and steadfast trust to overcome any setbacks.
- Forgive us, Lord, when we are sitting down quietly when we should be standing up to proclaim your salvation.
- We pray for our children to be protected from harm and illness.
- Let us think about your promise of provision. “Look at the lilies and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing, yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. And if God cares so wonderfully for flowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith? Luke 12:22-28
