Prayers
Pray in thanksgiving for God’s presence in our lives:
- Thank you, Lord, for your great love and blessing over my life, for being my FATHER.
- Thank you, Lord, for Jesus, who knows the world, my struggles and my heart and is with me, no matter what.
- Thank you, Lord, for loving me even when I am a grumbler rather than a praiser.
- Thank you, Lord, for restoring every broken place of hurting in Your time and for Your glory.
- Thank you, Lord, for providing us with wonderful, earthly fathers.
Pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ:
- For those dealing with anxiety over anticipated surgery, medical treatment or the recovery process
- For those saying good-bye to loved ones
- For those in broken relationships
- For our new graduates, may their next steps in education or career building be blessed by You
- For protection and wisdom as we step out in the world where the coronavirus is still not fully contained
- For integrity, truth and compassion to motivate world leaders rather than self-glory and pride
- For our children to enjoy summer vacation safely
- For our missionaries to meet the challenges of a world lost in darkness; may they have the patience and perseverance to reach one soul at a time
Pray for CCC:
- Lord, you are my God; I will exalt you and praise your name, for in perfect faithfulness you have done wonderful things, things planned long ago. Isaiah 25:1
- That our Board and ministry leaders will seek God’s wisdom and strength as they continue in the tasks assigned to them
- That though we may take a vacation from meetings, we do not take a vacation from living our faith, wherever we are
- That we will be able to use summer months to try out new ways to learn and fellowship together
- That we are faithful in our kingdom work, trusting that God provides the results according to His plan
- For children’s ministry planning – may we begin to use the new space God has blessed us with in a safe and positive way
- That we may individually and collectively not neglect the discipline of meeting with our Lord
- That our pastors may shoulder the burdens placed on them daily with wisdom and power from the Lord
To Think About: We often have questions that can rock our faith such as ‘will everything be ok’? The world seems full of discontented and self-centered people acting in reckless fashion, not to mention COVID-19 adding fear to the mix. In the story of Jesus calming the storm, the disciples are fearful as a big storm comes up and Jesus is taking a nap. “Master, Master, we’re going to drown!” When Jesus woke up, he rebuked the wind and the raging waves. Suddenly the storm stopped and all was calm. Then he asked them, “Where is your faith?” The disciples were terrified and amazed. “Who is this man?” they asked each other. “When he gives a command, even the wind and waves obey him.” Luke 8:22-25 We will probably never have everything together in our lives, but if we are attached to Jesus through faith, we know Jesus is bigger than everything and anything we have to fear.
