Prayers
Pray in thanksgiving for God’s presence in our lives:
- Thank you, Lord, for blessing us with a few more days of warmth before the cold sets in.
- Thank you, Lord, that there are no weapons against which You cannot prevail. Isaiah 54:17
- Thank you, Lord, that You are my light and salvation. Psalm 27:1
- Thank you, Lord, that I can hear Your Voice when I am very still.
- Thank you, Lord, for words of encouragement from loved ones.
Pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ:
- Those with ongoing health concerns. Pray for transformation of spirit even when the body is slow to heal.
- Those in nursing or homebound care. Pray that they may find joy in what they can do, rather than what they cannot.
- Those suffering in the COVID-19 pandemic and those working to overcome its devastation. Pray for all of us to do what we can to stop the spread. Pray for God’s intervention – only He has the power to overcome.
- For wisdom in selecting our nation’s leaders
- Those who lost homes
- Those who are uncertain about their jobs
- For more patience and self-control when circumstances are difficult
- For our discernment in knowing when to listen and when to talk so that others may be encouraged
Pray for CCC:
- Pray that in our time of worship, God is front, center, and exclusive. Jesus replied, “We must worship God, and him alone. So it is written in the Scriptures.” Luke 4:8 TLB
- For unity in the body of Christ, focusing on how God wants us to build His Kingdom
- That God can help those in difficult relationships to let go of prideful thinking
- That we focus more on what we can do rather than what we think we can’t do
- That we build up a culture of thanksgiving and peace in God’s Kingdom on earth
- That we not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people”. Galatians 6:9-10
- That God will open doors for us to proclaim the Good News
To Think About: In Proverbs, God’s guide to living, we are reminded that God blesses those who are generous and share what they have with the poor, but does not bless those who ignore those in need. Those who give to the poor will lack nothing, but those who close their eyes to them receive many curses. Proverbs 28:27 NIV
