Regular Worship Services and In-Person Church Activities Are Still Suspended Indefinitely

Although the District of Columbia is in Phase 2 of Reopening which allows for in-person worship with restrictions, CCC is still delaying its return to in-person worship to make sure there is not an increase in virus spread due to the lifting of restrictions and recent mass gatherings. On July 22, the Mayor declared the state of emergency in the District will remain through October 9.  Wearing a face covering is also mandatory when moving about the city.  The plans for phased reopening of CCC will be publicized on our website, email or WeChat groups.  We will also send out a mail communication once plans are in place.  Online activities will continue for now.  The Official Board has established a Re-Opening Church Action Group which will publish the guidelines.  Check the church website frequently for up-dates, www.cccdc.com.

Welcome Guests Speakers on 8/30/20.  Elder Mark Ho from Chinese Christian Church in Maryland will speak at the Cantonese Worship Service and Missionary Greg Chen will speak at the Mandarin Worship Service.

 

Interment Service for CCC member, Alice Eng who passed away on 11/1/2019 will be at Arlington National Cemetery on Friday, September 4, at 11 am for the immediate family.  Please pray for peace for her family as they are finally able to lay her body to rest and joy that they know her spirit is living with Jesus.

 

Bible Reading Marathon will take place September 12-16 on the steps of the Capitol and virtually.  If interested in reading, please contact Pastor Charles.

 

Chinese Retreat [M and C].  October 3, 2020.  Prof. Der-Chen Chang will be the speaker during this virtual conference.

Sunday School

Precautionary Measures Due to Coronavirus

 

  • Although the area stay-at-home restriction has been eased, you are advised to be cautious when going out – you are required to wear a face covering in DC anytime you are away from home, including outside. Stay away from large gatherings. Stay home if you are sick.
  • Details of activity information changes are announced through the website, phone tree, social media, WTOP and WJLA. If you want to be on the email list, please make sure we have your current email by contacting linda@cccdc.com
  • It is suggested that those returning from overseas or long distance travel or been in a large group should stay at home for two weeks to minimize spreading contagions.
  • Follow the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines for protecting yourself – wash hands frequently with soap and water, cover coughs and sneezes, avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands, stay home if you feel ill. Wear a face covering over nose and mouth if you have to go out.
  • Consult a doctor if you have a high fever, cough or breathing problems.
  • Be aware of anti-Asian/Chinese sentiments from those who have anger or fear related to the virus’ origins. Call 911 if you feel threatened.
  • Trust God in this and all situations acting as Jesus would to check on people who may need assistance, not giving into fear, verifying information before passing it on, praying often for His protection and trusting Him for the outcome. Our response in any situation is a testimony of our faith.

関瑤貞姊妹安葬儀式：於9月4日上午11點、阿靈頓國家公墓。儀式僅限於直系親屬。関瑤貞姊妹生前是教會會友，于2019年11月1日離世歸主。請為她家人内心的平安禱告。

新型冠狀病毒預警預防措施

  • 目前本地區的居家令已經放鬆，但建議您出外時多加小心，遠離集會，如果生病了，请留在家中。在特區離家外出，包括呆在戶外都要求戴口罩。
